Christmas lights

Christmas lights

The installation of the decorative elements and the wiring began in October. However, to be able to see them all lit up, we will have to wait until December 5, as was done in the past, in front of the Constitution Bridge, a date marked in red by lovers of this endearing era, from which it will be considered inaugurated the Christmas season in the Andalusian capital. Andalusian Christmas carols and rocieros will flood the streets in perfect balance with international hits like the well-known Mariah Carey. With this delay in the date, the maximum possible energy savings are being sought.

The schedule is also cut compared to previous years, the lights will come on at 6:30 p.m. and go off at 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends and holidays they will be from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., extending this schedule on the holidays of December 24 and 31 and January 1 until 1:00 a.m.

A mapping in the Giralda, is one of the most interesting proposals to discover. As every year, there will be different light, image and sound shows at key points in the city centre. For Christmas 2022, the main bet of the Seville City Council is the projection of a mapping with similar motifs to those that could be enjoyed in the Torre de Don Fadrique, only this time it is intended to take place on the façade of the Giralda.

Another key point is the 'temple of light' that is going to be established in a hot spot every year during the Christmas holidays: the Plaza de San Francisco. As usual, there will be several daily passes so that passers-by can stop to enjoy the light show. For this, two domes of up to 16 meters high will be assembled. On them will be placed a series of LED bulbs that will have various effects to create magical moments for everyone present.

For the little ones there will be a wide array of Christmas activities and plans with which to enjoy free time on these joyous and important dates. These include proposals as varied as the Sevilla on Ice theme park, the traditional Feria del Belén, Sevillalandia, a zambomba or different Christmas markets. There is no excuse for not waiting for these holidays with the illusion of a child.

A total of 288 streets and squares in the capital, some as outstanding as the Avenida de la Constitución, the Puerta de Jerez or the Plaza del Salvador, as well as many corners of the city.
