The Sanlúcar de Barrameda Horse Races are a unique experience with THE SUN PLACES. Today, August 5, 2025, marks 180 years of history with a particularly notable day of four races scheduled between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The races are held on a 1,800-meter course on the beach itself, with low tide as the protagonist, with purebred Spanish horses and other recognized breeds and with a traditional system with pools managed by the Sanlúcar Racing Society.
The races are managed by the Sanlúcar de Barrameda Horse Racing Society, in collaboration with:

- Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation

- They began as informal bets between local ranchers on the beach of Bajo de Guía.
