The mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, and the president of the Association of Friends of Antique Books, Milagrosa Díaz, have signed a collaboration agreement for the celebration of the Seville Antique and Second-Hand Book Fair, with the participation of twenty stands corresponding to different bookstores from all over the country in which unique, out-of-print or hard-to-find books, movie posters, posters, manuscripts or other publications from collectors will be offered, as well as institutions such as the ICAS, the Provincial Council of Seville and the University of Seville Publishing House.
For this new 2024 edition, FLAOS moves to the Plaza de San Francisco and starts with the opening speech on September 26 by Julio Muñoz, more known as ‘Rancio’ on social networks. The event will take place at 8:00 p.m. at the Círculo Mercantil with free entry until full capacity is reached. In 1985, when the Asociación Amigos del Libro Antiguo was founded, the fair was already held in the Plaza de San Francisco itself, where it returns this year.
Beyond the Fair, there will be talks, presentations, conferences and a whole programme of parallel activities yet to be revealed.
The Seville Antique and Second-Hand Book Fair has the support, as main sponsor, of Seville City Council through ICAS, as well as the Diputación de Sevilla and the University of Seville, and the collaboration of the Círculo Mercantil e Industrial de Sevilla. It is organized by the Association of Friends of Antiquarian Books of Seville in collaboration with the Institute of Culture and the Arts of Seville (ICAS) and is one of the longest-running and most stable cultural events in the city of Seville.
