The Central Lechera Asturiana Women's Race in Seville is held to promote gender equality and raise awareness about the importance of women's health and empowerment. This event brings together thousands of women who participate in a charity race, promoting physical activity and unity among them. In addition, it usually has a charitable focus, supporting causes related to the fight against cancer and other initiatives that benefit women. It is a celebration of female strength and solidarity in a festive and motivating atmosphere.
The Women's Race in Seville is held in the streets of the city, around the María Luisa Park and the Plaza de España, with the start and finish on La Rábida Street with a route of about 6.6 km.

The official presentation was held on October 14th in the Dining Room of Seville City Hall, by Silvia Pozo, delegate of the Government Area for Sport and Health Promotion; Henar Calleja, spokesperson for the Women's Race; Valme Prado and Esperanza Rueda, runners from the Oysho team; and representatives of the main solidarity projects, NGOs and Foundations with which the organization actively collaborates (Inmaculada Barbadillo, from the Spanish Association Against Cancer; Conchi Illanes, responsible for Social Projects at the Asociación Acción del Voluntariado; Carla Herrera, from Pulseras Rosas; and representatives of AMAMA Sevilla).
In honour of the doctor in Psychology Maite Román, within the solidarity project #MásQueUnaMuñeca of Wanawake Mujer and Proyecto Esperanza, her scientific doll has been presented this year, which recognises some of the most prestigious researchers and scientists at a national level. The #MásQueUnaMuñeca social merchandising project is a pre-employment workshop in which women victims of trafficking sew dolls by hand that are then sold at the race as a first step in their return to the working world. This year, 16 dolls have been put on sale at the runner's fair.
The race has always raised funds to promote cancer research and raise awareness about the importance of early prevention, as well as combat gender violence and the social and educational inequalities suffered by women in all areas. In total, the amount donated in these past 19 years has amounted to 1,779,277 euros, which has been allocated mostly to the Spanish Association Against Cancer and to all kinds of solidarity and scientific projects, foundations and NGOs.
In addition, in Seville there is the possibility of acquiring up to 50 100% solidarity bibs in favour of AMAMA Sevilla, (association of women affected by breast cancer), with which the organisation has actively collaborated in recent editions. Participants can also collaborate, within the +SOLIDARIAS campaign, with Acción del Voluntariado, a non-profit association that was founded 8 years ago with the idea of projecting the importance of volunteering and cooperation among young people and adults.
At the end of the circuit, a contribution of 80,000 euros will be made to the Spanish Association Against Cancer and in this 2024 edition of the 20th anniversary of the Central Lechera Asturiana Women's Race, donations of 1,000 euros will also be made to Wanawake Mujer, who fights against female genital mutilation and other forms of violence against women; GEICAM Foundation, leaders in breast cancer research; the Clara Campoamor Association that defends women's rights in all areas; and Intravenus, the Association of creators to give visibility and support to women in cancer processes.
