Seville was the last European city that the Circus del Sol visited before the pandemic. She returns to the Seville capital with her show 'Luzia', a journey through an imaginary Mexico.
Created and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, 'Luzia' invites audiences to immerse themselves in a dreamlike journey through a vibrant and sumptuous world suspended somewhere between the real and the unreal. In the words of Circo del Sol itself, “it is inspired by the people, places and stories that define Mexico.
More than 50 artists will perform across an old movie set, a smoky ballroom, and the barren desert; using as instruments Chinese rings on conveyor belts, masts and poles or their own body, doing contortionism and high-flying acrobatics. One of the novelties of this edition is that it incorporates, for the first time in an itinerant production of the company, the rain, an element that will help to create unrepeatable images, but that will also add more complexity to the acrobatics.
From Friday the 27th you can see the white sky that will shelter the artists of Cirque du Soleil. An ephemeral city of 20,000 square meters. More than 100 people will raise the hundred support poles that are needed to raise the canvas to its final position.
The tent in which 'Luzia' will be performed is located at a height of 19 meters, with a diameter of 51 meters. In addition, four 25-meter-high steel masts hold it upright. To support it, 500 piles are necessary, which can withstand winds of 120 kilometers per hour.
