The event will take place on Avenida de la Prensa, free of charge for all so that the people of Seville can enjoy the Chinese roots, which preserve their traditions and everyone can experience first-hand that special day for that community. Organized and promoted by the Chinese Associations of Seville, this is a fair to showcase the cultural wealth of the Chinese community with parades and processions, musical performances, traditional dances, Chinese cuisine, art exhibitions and cultural workshops, providing attendees with an immersive and educational experience about Chinese traditions.
The objectives are: to promote coexistence and mutual respect between local society and the Chinese community, facilitating their integration; to strengthen business relations between Chinese and local businessmen, creating opportunities for collaboration; and to position Seville as a city open to multiculturalism and with the capacity to host international events, also promoting its visibility and that of Andalusia.
The meeting is at Avenida de la Prensa (Polígono Carretera Amarilla) starting at noon on Sunday, February 16. A grand and eye-catching parade will lead into the opening ceremony, which is expected to be attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Spain. There will be various artistic performances, from a traditional makeup parade, the famous dragon and lion dance or waist drum and fish lantern music, to martial arts displays and Tai Chi exercises and singing and dancing performances with Chinese folk music and ethnic costumes. In addition, adding a touch of fusion with Seville, there will be a performance by Wang Can, known as the Gypsy of Beijing, a Chinese flamenco guitarist based in Seville who will perform flamenco music alongside a local artist.
From 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., an area will open for experiences that will facilitate immersion in Chinese culture: calligraphy, painting, origami, vase making, tea tasting, paper cutting and bag sewing, as well as a restaurant and gastronomy area, with live cooking where you can experiment with authentic Chinese recipes to take your palate on a trip to the great Asian giant. It is an opportunity for businessmen from Seville and the Chinese community to establish contacts and explore collaboration opportunities in the networking area.
Asian communities around the world began to celebrate the Lunar New Year at the beginning of February, which in the Chinese zodiac is celebrated in 2025 as the year of the snake.
From THE SUN PLACES, we want to thank the Chinese community for this great event and for them to discover our luxury apartments in Seville.
