On Children's Day, the Three Wise Men arrive

Seville says goodbye to the Christmas holidays with the magic of the Three Wise Men, who this January 4th fill the streets of the city with almost thirty parades. Among them, the Triana Cavalcade stands out as one of the most anticipated due to its tradition and popularity.

The Three Kings' Parade in Seville has always been held on the afternoon of January 5, but in 2024 everything will change and it will move to January 4. The rain has never prevented Their Majesties from walking through the streets of the city. Nor have other historical vicissitudes such as the Civil War or the coronavirus pandemic been able to do so. Although many things have changed since that first edition, the tradition of receiving Their Majesties on the eve of the day of the Epiphany remains intact.

As in previous years, the procession will leave from the Rectorate of the University of Seville, along Palos de la Frontera Street, at 4:15 p.m. King Baltasar's float - the last in the procession - is scheduled to reach the old Tobacco Factory at 10:00 p.m. The procession will take almost six hours to complete a route of almost 9.5 kilometers that will pass through more than thirty streets of the city.

The 2025 Three Kings Parade will have thirteen floats in addition to the classic ones that have been repeated from previous years, for a total of 30. Among the designs by Jesús Corral Zamburno, the following stand out: the Hermandad de la Amargura, which inspired the design of “El Nacimiento” on the Third Centenary in San Juan de la Palma; the Llopis Group, dedicated to environmental services; the Illustrious Official College of Nursing of Seville on the 160th anniversary of its creation; the Fernando III University, in the first year of university training in Seville; or the Royal Circle of Farmers when it turns 165 years old.

The artistic director of the Three Kings Parade and responsible for the creativity, Jesús Corral Zambruno, has highlighted the colour and fantasy of the designs, designed to awaken the illusion of the little ones and, as D. Javier Hernández Lucas, general director of Major Festivals of the City Council of Seville highlighted, being a learning experience for the children who, in addition to children's representations, find great values in the floats such as reading, or healthy and balanced eating, highlighting on this occasion the representations of the great myths and children's stories such as Peter Pan or the Atlantic, without forgetting childhood figures such as Zipi and Zape.

With this, the Christmas holidays will be over and the return to school for the little ones.
