The city of Cartagena was chosen to celebrate the Repsol Guide 2024 Suns Gala, with the presence of chefs from all over Spain, on March 4 at the El Batel Auditorium and Congress Palace. The master of ceremonies was the actress and presenter Silvia Abril, who was also the master of ceremonies in the 2023 edition.
The Repsol Guide dates back to 1979, when Campsa published a Traveler's Guide that already contained gastronomic information and a rating of restaurants on a scale of "suns" from one to four, awarded by the Brotherhood of the Good Table. In 2009, with the unification of the Campsa and Repsol brands, the Repsol Guide was born, recovering the rating of one, two and three suns, similar to the Michelin Guide.
The Repsol guide takes into account the quality and variety of the culinary offering, as well as the wine list, price, service and location of the establishment. The distinction awarded is the Repsol Suns, these are the criteria used by inspectors to rate each restaurant:
- One Repsol Sun: means recognition of the quality and variety of dishes.
- Two Repsol Suns: guarantee excellent management in the kitchen.
- Three Repsol Suns: recognise the best restaurants of the year.
The Repsol Guide has recognised a restaurant in Seville with one of its Repsol Suns. It joins the established gastronomic temples that have this prestigious distinction. These are all the restaurants that have obtained it:
- Abantal (2 Suns)
- Lalola (1 Sun)
- Cañabota (1 Sun)
- Sobretablas (1 Sun)
- Jaylu (1 Sun)
- Tribeca (1 Sun)
- Sr Cangrejo (1 Sun), which has obtained it in this new edition
In addition to recognizing these restaurants with their precious suns, the Repsol Guide makes its own recommendations based on a series of criteria:

Each place offers a cuisine of the highest quality and we always recommend them to our clients, as well as small hidden places in the Andalusian capital with a cultural and gastronomic wealth of high value.
The Repsol Guide also awards the Soletes prizes to popular and affordable places recommended by the local public, such as; restaurants, cafes, terraces, ice cream shops, taverns or beach bars that taste like a holiday. In this way, the Repsol Guide seeks to recognize and promote the diversity and quality of the gastronomic offer in Spain.
