Celler de Can Roca is one of the most award-winning restaurants in the world, with 3 Michelin stars and recognized for its avant-garde cuisine based on Catalan tradition. It is run by the Roca brothers: Joan (chef), Josep (sommelier), and Jordi (pastry chef).
It opened in 1986 in Girona, as an extension of their parents' modest bar, Can Roca.
The first Michelin star came in 1995, when Joan was only 25 years old.In 2007, they moved to a new, larger location, designed as an innovative space with an open kitchen, wine cellar, and garden.
In 2013 and 2015, it was named "Best Restaurant in the World" by The World's 50 Best Restaurants.
In 2016, they went on a world tour ("El Somni Tour") cooking on 5 continents.
